If you're traveling to Los Angeles on a vacation or to visit friends
or relatives, you'll find a wealth of interesting sightseeing spots
to visit in Los Angeles, the incorporated cities lying within its
borders, and in the surrounding Southern California areas. There
are some older landmarks that tell a lot about the richness of the
history as well as some entertainment venues and tourist spots that
give a glimpse of more recent history, lifestyle and trends.
Los Angeles
Farmers Market
An incredible landmark spot in the Mid-Wilshire district of Los
Angeles, Farmers Market features all manner of gourmet fare. You'll
find restaurants, foodstuffs and produce for sale, and a virtual
plethora of products from a variety of international sources.
Hollywood
Bowl
Hollywood is a section of Los Angeles, famous in motion picture
history. "The Bowl" is the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic
Orchestra, and is an enormous outdoor concert venue. Not quite as
well known is that it's also served as home for a number of important
rallies of public interest, such one years ago in support of Israel,
where Barbra Streisand was a featured celebrity attendee and supporter.
Evening concerts under the stars outdoors are a treat all summer
long.
City of
Beverly Hills
A fully independent incorported city within the borders of Los Angeles,
Beverly Hills, California 90210 is an upscale city with its own
local government, police force, school district and elected officials.
It's long been the residence of choice for many motion picture stars
and the business location of choice for a number of high dollar
companies. "Doing Rodeo Drive" has become cliche for walking
and shopping this street, full of pricey and exclusive consumer
goods and salons.
Los Angeles
Music Center
A cultural local highlight, the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles
has been the home of plays, concerts and orchestral performances
that remain in the memories of some for a lifetime. With four major
venues and events all year 'round, it's sure to be a high spot.
Check the schedules for the time of your visit and call to reserve
and visit the Los
Angeles Music Center, 135 North Grand Avenue. Los Angeles, CA
90012.
This section is under further development, and we'll be including
many not-to-be-missed Los Angeles local or near-local points of
interest, including Olvera Street, Solvang, amusement and tourist
venues, historical locations and more!
